Roderick Seed is an accomplished British flautist known for his expressive playing and international reach as a performer, teacher, and author. Based in West Sussex and London, he made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2010 after winning First Prize at the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition in New York.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London, Roderick studied under the legendary William Bennett, OBE, with the support of the prestigious Paddy Purcell Award. He later completed further studies with Lorna McGhee, principal flute of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, at the University of British Columbia, Canada.

His performance career has taken him to renowned venues such as Snape Maltings (Aldeburgh Festival), St Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster Cathedral, and international stages across Canada, Europe, Japan, and the USA. He has performed with leading orchestras including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, London Octave, and Postmodern Camerata, and appeared alongside world-class flautists such as William Bennett and Denis Bouriakov.

Roderick is also a passionate advocate for flute education. He has taught at the William Bennett International Flute Summer School, given masterclasses worldwide, and was a faculty member at the VSO School of Music. His contributions to flute pedagogy include two influential publications: Mastering the Flute with William Bennett (2018) and 7 Daily Vocalises (2023).

Roderick is an Altus Artist, playing an Altus ALII Flute.
